Jamie West is working to strengthen Ontario. A proud Sudburian and a tireless advocate for working people across Ontario, Jamie was first elected in 2018.
Jamie brings his blue-collar roots and lived experience to Queen’s Park — fighting for decent work, safe workplaces, and public services that lift people up. As the Ontario NDP’s Shadow Minister for Labour, Energy, and Mines, Jamie pushes for strong protections for workers, good-paying jobs in the North, and energy policy that puts people before profit.
A graduate of Cambrian College and Laurentian University, Jamie has worked in mental health, mining, construction, and workplace safety. His journey — from growing up in poverty to becoming a union leader and elected official — fuels his commitment to building a fairer, more prosperous Ontario where no one is left behind.
Jamie believes government should be a force for good, and he shows up every day ready to fight for Sudbury and every worker in this province.
